In POINTILLISM, a movement born in France at the end of ‘800, the fusion and creation of the image, was relegated directly to the retina of the observer. In fact, there were only dots on the canvas, as in this canvas by Félix Fénéon. The juxtaposition between the dots of different colors allowed the human eye to see the image. Basically it is what happened with the pixels in the monitors of the past, we perceived the image in its entirety.
